The process used for the assembly of lamination stacks for copper rotor die-casting is no different than that used for aluminum rotors. Assembly can be performed either by hand or by an automatic stacking machine. In both cases, the size of the stack is controlled either based on weight or overall length.
Once the stack is assembled, it is held together either by a steel arbor (see Figure 6.0.1), by running a small weld bead along its length, or by interlocking of the laminations.
