Father of the Mint
In addition to his sponsorship of the Lewis and Clark expedition, which was guided in part by Sacagawea, it was President Thomas Jefferson's persistence over 15 years, starting in 1776, that resulted in the establishment of the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia in 1792.
