Powering North America’s sustainable energy technologies will increasingly rely on copper
MCLEAN, VA— Technical advancements are rapidly changing the electrical marketplace and the capabilities of the technologies our society depends upon. To fuel the energy revolution, a reliable, plentiful and efficient power source is needed – copper.
The Copper Development Association (CDA)’s director of sustainable electrical energy, Zolaikha Strong, will present “Innovation & Resources: Copper's Role in the Electrification of Energy Technologies” during the NEMA Wire and Cable Industry Forum in Washington, D.C. on June 26. The presentation will focus on the increasingly important role copper wire and cable plays in electric vehicles, solar and wind energy generation, the electrical grid and energy storage, as well as motors.
“As North America continues to advance towards a renewable and energy efficient future, it’s critical that we invest in materials that are long-lasting, durable and reliable,” Strong said. “With copper, we can know that we’re building a future that will last.”
The NEMA Wire and Cable Industry Forum will highlight and explore the economic trends, international trade developments, and technical advancements shaping the wire and cable industry. The forum will be attended by electroindustry executives, cable manufacturers and material suppliers from across North America.
